Cene Gilvent

Cene Gilvent was a swordsbeing of the female persuasion, belonging to the Ocsinin species.

Biography

Hailing from the world of Saclas, Gilvent, a Near-Human with unusual, pupilless-eyed features, made her living by harvesting gelatinous slimes indigenous to her planet. These slimes were then exported as pets specifically for young Gamorrean individuals. Through this venture, she eventually accumulated sufficient funds to purchase passage to the Mid Rim. Upon arrival, she cultivated a strong interest in the art of fencing.

Gilvent secured employment with the Zuliria Museum of Antiquities, where her responsibilities included property maintenance. Over the subsequent seven years, she dedicated herself to studying and mastering numerous fencing styles, often through extensive reading. Her studies encompassed a wide range of techniques, from the Teelar two-handed method employed by the long-gone Lar warriors, to the Kartranin methods practiced by the relatively new Murra Orders.

By this stage, Gilvent was a middle-aged woman with blonde hair and fair skin. Possessing a robust build for an Ocsinin, yet remaining slender for a humanoid, Gilvent encountered Ther-das and sought admission into the Zulirian Swordmasters. Despite her evident skill, the Swordmasters initially declined her application due to her unconventional, albeit effective, combat style. However, recognizing her profound dedication and mastery, they ultimately welcomed her into their ranks.

A fellow Swordmaster, Mlatar Thon Gra, crafted Gilvent's unique weapon, the Soknar. This weapon was created by integrating a Somreth tri-blade from the Drevun Six, the Barnax "Twenchok" foil, and the Coynite sat'skar. Gilvent maintained a friendly rivalry with another Swordmaster, Kaltor Naklian, fueled by the fact that neither had ever experienced defeat in a duel.

During the skirmish at Teloc Ol-sen, Gilvent was among the Swordmasters involved. In this conflict, Naklian's actions resulted in the death of an agent affiliated with the Alliance to Restore the Republic, leading to a devastating massacre of the entire Rebel cell by the Swordmasters. Consequently, the Swordmasters became regarded as a significant threat by the Rebel Alliance.

Subsequently, Gilvent engaged in combat against a squad of newly recruited Rebel soldiers in Fislan, acting under the command of Bren Derlin. While the soldiers sustained injuries but survived, Derlin was deeply impressed by Gilvent's capabilities. He subsequently authored a report highlighting her potential danger and suggesting the deployment of a skilled marksman to eliminate her.
