Fjor-bats represented a unique species of winged beings that were indigenous to the planetary system where a confrontation unfolded involving Resistance aviator Poe Dameron and the army commanded by Lord Terex.

A fjor-bat was characterized as a flying being, distinguished by its expansive wings and a pair of hind legs suited for secure gripping. Notable features included prominent ears, intensely glowing orange eyes, and robust jaws filled with pointed teeth. Their heads were elongated and tapered, complemented by a row of spines extending along their backs. The outer skin of these creatures exhibited a blue-gray hue, contrasting with the fleshy pink shade of their inner ears.
Fjor-bats inhabited the caves and underground spaces of their desert planet and exhibited strong protective instincts towards their younglings. Their communication relied primarily on infrasonic signals; though relatively simple, this method served to alert other fjor-bats to the presence of intruders and potential dangers to their offspring.
During an encounter with the forces of Lord Terex, protocol droid C-3PO incited a fjor-bat colony by issuing an alarm in their native tongue, warning of approaching threats to their young. In response, the bats emerged from their caves in great numbers, assaulting Terex's soldiers and lifting some into the air using their strong, grasping limbs. Despite this distraction, the droid was unable to evade Terex, who subdued him and extracted his memory core.
