Fodesinbeed Annodue

Fodesinbeed Annodue, most famously known as Fode and Beed, was a well-known Troig personality who worked as a podracing announcer. He only made appearances at the most important podraces, and his fees were quite high. Each of his two heads functioned as independent entities, with the red head being called Fode and the green one being called Beed. During races, Fode and Beed would offer colorful commentary; Fode would speak with a drawl in Galactic Basic Standard, while Beed would share information in Huttese. In 32 BBY, Fode and Beed provided commentary for the Boonta Eve Classic event from the commentary booth located in the Mos Espa Grand Arena on the planet of Tatooine.

Behind the scenes

Scott Capurro and Greg Proops portraying Fode and Beed

Fode and Beed initially showed up in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, and later in other media connected to The Phantom Menace and podracing. Comedians Greg Proops and Scott Capurro played them. Early in production, there were plans for them to appear in makeup, with their bodies covered in blue suits for later compositing. However, the combination of their live performances with CGI didn't look realistic enough, so the character was entirely computer-generated. At that stage, Proops was playing Beed, and Capurro was playing Fode. Why their roles were switched is still a mystery. The first Fode and Beed action figure featured the faces of the original actors.
