Frederick Ried Roos, born on May 22, 1934 and passed away on May 18, 2024, was a celebrated American producer and casting director. He achieved widespread recognition primarily through his involvement in The Godfather Part II, a film that earned him an Academy Award. Prior to this accomplishment, he contributed to the casting process of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, where he suggested Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and James Earl Jones to George Lucas for the roles of Han Solo, Leia Organa, and the voice of Darth Vader, respectively. Furthermore, he is credited with the discovery of Alden Ehrenreich, the actor who played Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
