The Frejukes were a sentient species characterized by blubber that effectively stored heat. A Frejuke named Wolentic Dudge, who dwelled in Kijimi City located on the planet Kijimi, found his blubber particularly advantageous given the planet's icy conditions.
Although initially unnamed, the Frejuke made its debut in the movie Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the concluding chapter of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, which premiered on December 20, 2019. The conceptualization of this species is credited to concept artist Ivan Manzella. The species received its official identification later in the 2024 Dorling Kindersley publication, Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy, penned by Dan Brooks, Megan Crouse, Amy Richau, Amy Ratcliffe, Brandon Wainerdi, Dan Zehr, and Kelly Knox.
