Frosch were a species of lizard found on the Forest Moon of Endor, according to Legends material. In the year 3 ABY, an Ewok family residing on Endor needed to obtain frosch eggs. These eggs were required for a potion intended to cure their father, Deej Warrick, who was suffering from rokna tree fungus. Weechee, one of Warrick's sons, ventured into the frosch grotto to retrieve the eggs. Although he succeeded, he was forced to make a hasty retreat from the cave due to a pursuit by several frosch. He narrowly escaped by falling down a waterfall, surviving with the assistance of his brothers.

Living in caves of Endor's Forest Moon, the frosch species were amphibious lizards distinguished by their six legs and orange coloration. Each limb ended in three-toed feet. Notable features included red tongues, yellow eyes, and a lengthy tail. They were also known for their formidable, sharp, jagged teeth capable of consuming nearly anything. The skin around their eyes and on their chins was gray, contrasting with the orange of their bodies. Frosch produced small, white eggs.
Frosch displayed a tendency to aggressively attack anyone attempting to steal their eggs. Being carnivores, they were also inclined to prey on Ewoks. They were known for their quick tempers.

A significant number of frosch on Endor inhabited the frosch grotto, a cave featuring a large waterfall as its entrance. The grotto, situated within the swamps, contained a deep pond. In 3 ABY, Deej Warrick suffered a severe injury from rokna tree's fungus. To save him, his family sought help from Logray, the village's medicine man, who prescribed a potion that needed frosch eggs. Logray warned that acquiring the eggs would require the greatest courage of all ingredients, as the frosch were widely feared. Warrick's sons—Weechee, Willy, and Wicket Warrick—divided the task of collecting the necessary components. Following Logray's instructions, Weechee ventured alone to the frosch grotto. He cautiously entered, attempting to avoid the frosch, but he inadvertently got many frosch eggs stuck to his clothing, drawing the attention of three growling frosch. After pocketing some eggs, Weechee retreated towards the waterfall's edge, where a fourth frosch cornered him. Unable to maintain his footing on the slippery ground, he said a prayer and jumped into the waterfall.
Although he survived the fall by grabbing onto a branch, he became trapped and called for help while the frosch watched him. The other Ewoks arrived and threw him a rope, allowing him to swing to a tree and back to the ground. However, the frosch followed, trapping the Ewoks and their Gupin companion, Mring-Mring, against a stone formation. They were forced to climb the formation, but Willy slipped.

The frosch, now numbering over a dozen, approached Willy, snarling. Willy stood up and began lecturing them about the importance of his mission and their greed. He argued that it was shameful for them to consider Ewoks a good meal. Although the frosch initially hesitated, they remained unconvinced and continued to approach, prompting Willy to scramble up the formation. Reaching the top, he and the others realized they were trapped, encircled by the frosch. As the frosch began climbing the stone, Mring-Mring used his magical abilities to transform into a large winged creature and flew away, carrying the Ewoks to safety.
The frosch made their debut in "To Save Deej," the fourth episode of Ewoks' first season, which aired on September 28, 1985. The 2001 first issue of The Official Star Wars Fact File is the only source that capitalizes them as "Frosch," and this article assumes that it was an error. While the episode calls them lizards, the StarWars.com Databank entry for Weechee Warrick identifies them as salamanders. This article assumes that the Databank entry was incorrect.
Wicket and the Dandelion Warriors: An Ewok Adventure, an adaptation of the episode by Larry Weinberg, published on November 12, 1985, claims that Weechee deliberately stuck his hand on a rock to find the eggs and that he separated a single egg to take after finding many stuck together. It also states that he ventured deeper into the frosch cave before jumping into the water. As the episode depicts him finding the eggs accidentally and fleeing the cave soon after the frosch find him, this article uses that version of the events.
