GA Commando; second from the left. The Galactic Alliance Core Fleet Commandos represented specialized elite forces within the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet. Notably, they participated in the capture of the Imperious warship from the shipyards orbiting Dac around 137 ABY.
Commando teams were deployed by the Galactic Alliance Remnant for a pair of mission profiles. One involved penetrating Galactic Empire facilities, and the other focused on assassinating members of the One Sith. This was intended to demonstrate to their fellow soldiers that standard troops could defeat the formidable Sith Lords. Within the Alliance, GAC teams were divided into two categories. The first consisted of temporary teams assembled for specific operations and then dissolved afterward. The second comprised permanent units, such as the Womp Rats, which were enduring military squads assigned to specialized assignments.
