A zealous advocate for the Herdessan custom of slavery, Gaza, along with his allies—headed by Spokesman Brylin—instead captured Alliance leader [Mon Mothma](/article/mon_mothma/legends], planning to hand her and their planet over to a surviving Imperial faction. Nevertheless, Leia Organa, another Alliance diplomat, spearheaded an armed Herdessan uprising that dismantled the Herdessan Guild's authority and thwarted their plot.
