Gelens, a Rodian Sergeant of male gender, fought for the Galactic Republic in the Galactic War. This conflict pitted them against the resurgent Sith Empire. During the battle that occurred on Corellia in 3640 BBY, Gelens commanded a squad from within a Manka-class armored transport. Unfortunately, their walker was disabled, leaving the entire team stuck inside with a dwindling air supply. Fortunately, they managed to contact a Republic supporter via holocomm, who arrived with welding tools and freed Gelens and his soldiers.
