In the year 3955 BBY, a female was born; she was the daughter of Gelesi, an officer serving in the Onderonian military. By 3951 BBY, Gelesi had married a woman, and the family resided on the planet of Onderon. After the murder of his predecessor, Gelesi inherited the position of Captain of the Guard, which caused him to become increasingly paranoid that he would suffer a similar fate. This fear for his own safety, as well as the safety of his family, greatly increased his anxiety. This anxiety led Gelesi to consider secretly evacuating his family from Onderon, but ultimately, he decided against it.
If the player character, the Jedi Exile, chooses to support General Vaklu's efforts to become king of Onderon, instead of defending the current regent, Queen Talia, during her initial visit to Onderon in Obsidian Entertainment's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Gelesi mentions his daughter. In this scenario, the player has the option to persuade Gelesi to leave the planet. Gelesi expresses concern for his family if this path is chosen, and this information can be used to convince him to leave Onderon. Furthermore, the player has the option to convince Panar, a Beast Rider, to threaten to abduct and marry Gelesi's daughter as an additional method of persuading the captain to leave. Although there is no official canonical confirmation of this elective, this article assumes that the Exile supported the queen during her first visit and that Gelesi was not persuaded to emigrate, based on The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia's assertion that the Exile supported Talia during a second visit.
