Gendra was a Quarren of the male persuasion. He dwelled upon the desert world of Tatooine during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Yavin, his home became Mos Eisley. He maintained a friendship with Chalmun, who owned the Spaceport Cantina, and was also friendly to Chalmun's employees Muna Skish and Lurval. Additionally, he knew Trehla Keelo. Gendra tended to be affable to those who were new to Mos Eisley, especially if they showed no interest in fighting. In the year 1 ABY, Gendra agreed to lend assistance to a group of spacers who, along with Han Solo, arrived in Mos Eisley coming from Tansarii Point Station. The arrival of these spacers presented a valuable chance for Gendra to assist Chalmun. One of the spacers, a trader, had skills as a crafter and was keen on making meat jerky and spiced tea for the cantina's patrons, and also crafted new glassware. Another spacer, an entertainer, made an agreement to perform in the cantina, dancing and playing music, which delighted the patrons. Gendra was extremely happy about the assistance the spacers provided. The Quarren even gave one of them a XP-38 landspeeder.
Gendra existed as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This game was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its shutdown on December 15, 2011. Gendra's inclusion in the game occurred with the release of "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," which went live on November 15, 2005.
