A star existed within the Geroon system of the Unknown Regions', with the planet Geroon orbiting it, hence the eponymous naming. During 27 BBY, the battle saw the sunlight reflecting off the warships of the Vagaari slaver fleet as they fought against the starships belonging to the sentient species of Geroon, who shared the same name.
Timothy Zahn mentioned this sun in his novel Outbound Flight, which was published in 2006. In 2009, The Essential Atlas, a reference book, specified the location of the Geroon system, including its star, as grid square I-8.
