Ghosts of Hoth

While Chewbacca toils away repairing the Millennium Falcon's hyperdrive at Echo Base, he is visited by the spectral form of a young girl, who silently pleads for assistance. This encounter terrifies Chewbacca, leading him to barricade himself within the Millennium Falcon. Concurrently, a Rebel guard is ambushed by a wampa while standing watch.

Returning to Echo Base, Han Solo struggles to coax Chewbacca out of the ship, until he inquires about the original builders of the base. Han seeks out an Alliance member nearby, who tells him that the origin of the base is unknown, but it is believed that the original inhabitants were forced out by the harsh climate of Hoth. Even after hearing this information, Chewbacca remains inside the Millennium Falcon, causing Han to leave in frustration.

Later, the ghosts of the settlers, with the little girl's spirit as their guide, reappear before Chewbacca, imploring him to follow them. Chewbacca breaks through a wall within the base, uncovering the den of a wampa. Inside, the wampa is devouring the unfortunate rebel sentry, surrounded by the skeletal remains of the original settlers. As the wampa attacks, Chewbacca fires his Bowcaster, killing it. He then recovers a bracelet that belonged to the little girl. Now calm, Chewbacca resumes his work on the Falcon, and the settlers' spirits appear one last time, looking much more peaceful than before.
