The Grandfather of Vice refers to a male character who existed during the era of the Galactic Civil War. In the year 3 ABY, the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry sought shelter on the planet of Ankhural for starship maintenance, and this individual, the Grandfather of Vice, played a role in assisting the rebel company in circumventing conflicts with the local gangs. A soldier from the 61st, known as Brand, soon made inquiries, through a Weequay connected to the Grandfather of Vice, about any potential problems the gangs might have with the company. Following the Weequay's assurance—delivered in the Huttese language—that the gangs had not caused any problems or shown any interest, Brand instructed him to convey her gratitude to the Grandfather of Vice for his assistance.
Alexander Freed's 2015 novel, Battlefront: Twilight Company, featured a reference to the Grandfather of Vice.
