The Grappler, a bio-vessel, was brought into existence by the sentient planet Zonama Sekot amidst the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar. Its creation was a component of the "Fight Without Fighting" strategy employed against the Yuuzhan Vong.
These organisms bore a resemblance to the maidenfly insect, exhibiting green wings and reddish exoskeletons. Additionally, they possessed a gripping appendage and dovin basal-esque gravity projection devices. These were used to disable both Galactic Alliance starfighters and Alpha Red-contaminated coralskippers of the Yuuzhan Vong.
