The Hackjackers, a band of starship thieves under the command of Tjepo Juibop, ran their operations from a chop shop located on Takodana. Following the theft of ships from the vicinity of Maz Kanata's castle, she enlisted the help of Han Solo and Chewbacca, tasking them with posing as potential purchasers to uncover the gang's base of operations. However, the Hackjackers, having discovered the true intentions of the two smugglers, abducted them. Witnessing their capture, the pirate Hondo Ohnaka attempted to commandeer their vessel, the Millennium Falcon, only to find Kanata aboard, intending to rescue Solo and Chewbacca. Ohnaka, who initially intended to purchase from the Hackjackers, then agreed to assist, successfully locating and infiltrating their hideout. His plans shifted upon discovering the Hackjackers' intention to dismantle the Falcon for spare parts, leading him to join forces with Solo, Chewbacca, and Kanata, resulting in the deaths of numerous Hackjackers, including their leader, Juibop.
