Hatchmate was a designation employed by clone troopers belonging to the Grand Army of the Republic throughout the Clone Wars. It served to identify fellow troopers who originated, or were "hatched," from the identical cloning production run on Kamino. While positioned on Orto Plutonia, Commander Mag mentioned Flanker as being a "hatchmate" to Shiv. It is also known that Sev and Scorch shared the same designation.
The Barabels from Barab I utilized Hatchmate as a kinship term, to signify biological relatives within their species.
