The Holocron Vault served as an archival chamber located within the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. It housed the Jedi Order's collection of holocrons, which were storage devices containing a vast and potent repository of knowledge.

The Chief Librarian maintained a vigilant watch over the Order's holocrons stored within the Holocron Vault.
During the era of the Clone Wars, Darth Sidious contracted the services of bounty hunter Cad Bane to secretly steal a valuable holocron. Bane assassinated Jedi Master Ord Enisence and subsequently utilized the skills of a Clawdite bounty hunter named Cato Parasitti, who impersonated Enisence to infiltrate Bane into the Temple Archives. He successfully diverted the attention of his Jedi adversaries and secured the holocron, abandoning Parasitti to be apprehended by the Jedi.
The Holocron Vault was positioned along the external perimeters of the Archives' Second and Fourth Halls, fortified by a set of expanding security doors. A circular corridor connecting the two halls was equipped with security lasers capable of detecting movement and triggering an alarm if activated. Only the twelve Jedi Masters holding positions on the Jedi Council were officially authorized to access the Vault, possessing the ability to unlock it using the Force. The holocrons illuminated the Vault's circular chamber with a soft blue aura, and a pillar served as a repository for these knowledge artifacts.
The Holocron Vault initially appeared in The Clone Wars: The Holocron Heist, a novel inspired by the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. However, it is now considered part of the Star Wars Legends continuity, rather than canon. The Vault's first canonical appearance was in the episode "Holocron Heist," which served as the basis for the novel.
An episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars was planned, but never completed, which would have depicted Darth Sidious's attempt to breach the Holocron Vault, thwarted by the intervention of Ahsoka Tano.
