A holocube functioned as a portable device for the display of holographic imagery. Rinnrivin Di, a prominent crime lord, was the owner of a holocube containing a recording of Princess Leia Organa murdering Jabba the Hutt, a sworn adversary of his species'. In an attempt to curry favor with the Princess, Di presented Organa with the cube; however, she subsequently returned it, seeking to track him via an embedded sensor beacon.
