Hologram Fun World

Hologram Fun World (HFW), a space station designed as an amusement park, existed in proximity to both Koaan and the Zabian system. This park, encased within a see-through dome measuring 40 kilometers across, was suspended within a blue helium cloud.

Functioning

Hologram Fun World

The location of Hologram Fun World was within a helium gas accumulation situated near the Zabian system.

The attractions at Hologram Fun World primarily revolved around employing holograms to fabricate simulated settings, replicating both unique locales and thrilling scenarios. Among the numerous features available on this planet were the Joy Domes and the Anywhere Room, which were the most sought-after experiences within HFW. Additionally, it housed a jewelry shop and a religious building.

Past Events

During the initial three months of 22 BBY, a downturn in the galactic tourism sector led to a temporary reduction in visitor numbers. The waiting lines for the Anywhere Room, which previously accommodated thousands of visitors, sometimes decreased to under four hundred individuals. This change was reportedly caused by a reluctance among vacationers to undertake extensive journeys. Given that the majority of HFW's patrons originated from regions beyond the Core Worlds, this resulted in a substantial decline in earnings. However, revenues rebounded with the arrival of the mid-year period and the stabilization of the tourism market.

In the year 0 ABY, HFW served as a clandestine location for one of the Galactic Empire's Project Starscream experiments. This particular segment of the project led to the development of a device known as the "Nightmare Machine." Two young individuals who were refugees from Alderaan, named Zak and Tash Arranda, along with their adopted "uncle," Mammon Hoole, interfered with the experiment.

Leia Organa Solo and Han Solo had at one time considered holding their wedding ceremony there.

Management

The control center for Hologram Fun World's operations was a section of the station known as the Adminidome. The bureaucratic structure included the Document Bureau. During the Battle of Geonosis, the park was overseen by Baron Administrator Graekus Shubelle. Later, during the Galactic Civil War, Danna Fajji took over management. Following the Battle of Endor, Lando Calrissian briefly invested in the park before divesting and, drawing inspiration from his investment, establishing SkyCenter Galleria.

Production Notes

Hologram Fun World made its debut in the book Queen of the Empire, published in 1993, which was authored by Paul Davids and Hollace Davids, with Drew Struzan as the cover artist. Hologram Fun World then appeared in the Galaxy of Fear series, Prophets of the Dark Side and Young Jedi Knights: Trouble on Cloud City.
