The Holographic Zoo of Extinct Animals, situated on Coruscant, was a museum that presented extinct creatures in holographic dioramas. These displays depicted the animals in their natural environments, engaging in behaviors like hunting, feeding, and fighting. Among the creatures exhibited, the krabbex from Mon Calamari, snow falcons originating from Rhinnal, the manticore, the singing trees found on Pil Diller, and the mantabog of Malastare were particularly favored by the zoo's visitors.
After the Clone Wars, the zoo underwent a shift in management, leading to a more sensational and exaggerated style aimed at drawing in larger audiences. The new exhibits incorporated flashing lights and a voice-over that proclaimed, "Prepare to witness long-lost marvels from a distant era and galaxy!"
Following the obliteration of Alderaan, numerous Alderaanian species found a place in the zoo's collection. Included were several types of Alderaanian thranta, notably the great and pilotta types. Furthermore, holographic representations of the Alderaan furry moth and stalking birds were also featured.
