Homack served within the ranks of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. During his time as an X-wing pilot, Homack saw combat above Atrivis; however, he was shot down and subsequently hunted by Imperial storm commandos once he was planetside. Homack successfully evaded capture by the Imperials, and later, while undertaking a separate ground-based mission on the world of Hethar, he faced an assault by shredder bats. After his time in the Alliance concluded, the seasoned veteran occasionally contributed insights to Gundark's Gear Datalog.
Homack held membership in the Alliance to Restore the Republic and functioned as a pilot. While piloting an X-wing, this pilot participated in an aerial battle above the world of Atrivis, which resulted in him being shot down. On the surface of the planet, he was pursued by storm commandos, which were specialized stormtrooper units with expertise in commando operations. Homack managed to escape them thanks to a camo scout armor set made by Creshaldyne Industries. The suit was stored in the starfighter's survival kit and could replicate the surrounding environment by producing a small holographic distortion, allowing Homack to avoid capture long enough to commandeer a ship and flee the planet.

During a separate operation, this time on Hethar, Homack and a number of fellow Rebels were investigating an Imperial detachment. While spending a night on the planet, Homack was assigned to night watch duty with three other Rebels when they were ambushed by shredder bats. These creatures, known for their pack hunting behavior, possessed sharp fangs, which they used to attempt to puncture their target's coronary arteries. Homack and the sentries were able to prevent such an attack by activating their Merr-Sonn Excluders. These small sonic devices emitted high-frequency sound waves, disrupting the bats' senses and causing them to fall from the sky. The sentries then eliminated the creatures without attracting the attention of the Imperials or even waking the other Rebels. The bats were subsequently consumed as breakfast the following day.
Following his retirement from the Rebellion, Homack contributed several comments and reviews regarding equipment in 8 ABY. Three of these were included in Gundark's Gear Datalog. For example, while discussing the A3AA personal defense module manufactured by Corellian Technologies, Homack suggested employing grenades or slugthrowers to overcome the suit's dissipation field.
Homack was conceived for Gundark's Fantastic Technology: Personal Gear (1997), where he provided commentary on three pieces of equipment. The comments originated from a planet with the code "Bst," potentially Bestine, or, less likely, Bseto I. The in-universe comments found throughout the book were designed to serve as scenario hooks or possible modifications. Considering the events that unfolded on Atrivis, Homack may have been a member of the Atrivis Sector Force, which coordinated Rebel activities within the sector.
