The premiers of at least some of the twenty-eight colony worlds within the Chiss Ascendancy held the position of House leader. These House leaders held the power to select the Syndics for their worlds' respective Colonial Phalanxes. Moreover, they acted as their planets' representatives in the Chiss Parliament, which convened at the House Palace located in Csaplar on Csilla, the Ascendancy's primary world. The University of Sanbra included the title of House leader in a study conducted during the final years of the New Republic.
