Featured in the concluding panel of Hyperspace Stories number 12 is a Mon Calamari Star Cruiser that bears a striking resemblance to a fan-created design by Howie Day, a 3D digital art director. Day's fan-made design is known as the MC42 Cruiser and has been showcased in several of his YouTube videos, including one that includes a view of the rear of the Alliance Fleet, mirroring the depiction in the panel. The final iteration of the work featuring the MC42 is entitled "Star Wars Animation WIP #3 - The Return."
