The Illip were a Hutt clan, alternatively known as a kajidic. Juvard Illip Oggurobb, a Hutt who once held the rank of Doctor prior to the Galactic War that pitted the Galactic Republic against the Sith Empire, was a member of this clan.
The Illip clan, situated within Hutt Space, represents one of the many Hutt kajidics that existed. This clan was the origin of Dr. Juvard Illip Oggurobb, a masculine Hutt who, unusually for his species, chose the path of a scientist rather than that of a crime lord.
During the Galactic War, Supreme Mogul Toborro recruited Juvard to assist the Hutt Cartel's conquest of Makeb. However, Juvard soon came to the conclusion that Toborro was insane, leading him to defect to the Galactic Republic and align the Illip clan with them. Post-invasion, Juvard assumed the role of official liaison between the Hutt Cartel and the Galactic Republic.
The Illip kajidic itself has not been directly referenced, yet its existence is suggested by the name of Juvard Illip Oggurobb. As explained in Galaxy Guide 11: Criminal Organizations, a Hutt's cuirvas (or middle name) served to identify their respective clan.
