The standard armor utilized by Imperial Army troopers, who were the ground forces of the Galactic Empire, was known as Imperial Army trooper armor. This protective gear included shoulder plates, bicep armor, a breastplate, and a helmet equipped with goggles, or in some cases, an Imperial kepi; all of these components were worn over an Imperial Army uniform. While similar to Imperial officer battle armor, the trooper armor featured a more basic breastplate design, without the outer edge lining, and included additional armor plates in addition to the standard breastplate and helmet. A white stripe on the left shoulder plate could signify the military rank of corporal.
Swamp trooper armor incorporated extra plates to shield the shins. A red plate on the right bicep was used on this armor to identify standard troopers, while a white plate denoted medics.
Juggernaut Pilots sported armor akin to that of swamp troopers, but their helmets resembled those worn by Imperial combat assault tank pilots. A red plate on the right bicep was also used on this armor to communicate rank.
Imperial security troopers were equipped with shin plates and a uniquely designed, flared black helmet featuring blue-lensed goggles, in addition to the standard armor components worn by other Army troopers.
