A female being from the Colonies world of Hynestia, during the High Republic Era, was the mother of Imri Cantaros. She and a male being from the Expansion Region planet Genetia, who was Imri Cantaros' father, raised their human son, Imri Cantaros—born circa 246 BBY. Throughout Cantaros' childhood, he resided with his parents on both Hynestia and Genetia until his Force-sensitive abilities were discovered. Subsequently, his parents brought Cantaros to the Jedi Order's temple on Hynestia so that he could undergo training to become a Jedi.
In 231 BBY, while aboard Starlight Beacon, a space station, Cantaros, now a Jedi Padawan, was introduced to fellow Padawan Reath Silas by his Master, the Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh. As they talked, Rwoh inquired about Silas' recent journey to Genetia before asking her own Padawan whether he hailed from there. Cantaros then told them about his parents and how he spent his childhood on both of their homeworlds.
The mother of Imri Cantaros received a mention in The High Republic: Out of the Shadows, a young-adult novel from 2021 penned by Justina Ireland. This novel was released as part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.
