The Jawa named Entip desired such a sensor and offered in exchange a power injector system, nine portions of transparisteel, and three ion cells. Kay Vess, a thief, successfully traded the necessary components to Zadiket in 3 ABY to acquire their J8 Terrain Sensor. Subsequently, Vess traded the sensor, transparisteel, and ion cells to Entip in return for the Power Injector System.
The J8 Terrain Sensor was featured in Star Wars Outlaws, the video game developed by Massive Entertainment and released in 2024. The player is required to get the sensor to gain access to the optional "Adapt" skill.
