Janta knife
A Janta knife represented a style of melee weapon utilized sometime following the Battle of Yavin throughout the Galactic Civil War, a war between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire. This simple, short knife was designed to be wielded in a single hand, inflicting physical harm upon impact. The blade of the Janta knife was characterized by its gray hue, complemented by a brown handle.
Behind the scenes
The Janta knife made its debut within Sony Online Entertainment's 2003 MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies, before Galaxies' shutdown in 2011. Within the context of the game, the knife served as a melee weapon that inflicted kinetic damage, and it was randomly distributed as loot, obtainable by players from certain defeated foes.
The Janta are a Dantari tribe residing on the planet Dantooine, also introduced in Star Wars Galaxies, however, the description of the Janta knife did not specify if the Janta people used or manufactured this weapon. The weapon shared the same in-game appearance as the stone knife, but the game made no indication that the Janta knife was constructed from stone.
