Jayco was a swindler and male human operating during the Imperial Era. He collaborated with Haja Estree on the Daiyu.
Around 9 BBY, Jayco made his home on the planet Daiyu, where he engaged in a life of deception as a con artist alongside his partner, Haja Estree. To earn a living, Estree pretended to be a Jedi offering aid to those in need, while Jayco acted as his informant, guiding potential clients to Estree's secret location. On one occasion, he directed Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was searching for the recently abducted Leia Organa, to Estree. After Inquisitor Third Sister placed a bounty on Kenobi's head, Jayco informed Estree that they had unwittingly encountered a genuine Jedi. Estree then retrieved his blaster pistol to find Kenobi himself. He eventually met with Kenobi and provided him with information to facilitate his escape from Daiyu, hoping to atone for his involvement in their deceptive scheme.
Jayco's character was developed for the Disney+ series titled Obi-Wan Kenobi. Jecobi Swain played the role in Part II of the series. In that episode, Jayco approaches Obi-Wan Kenobi and volunteers to guide him to "a Jedi" before Kenobi had found Princess Leia. The reference work Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy, published by Dorling Kindersley on November 19, 2024, incorrectly indicates that Jayco approached both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Leia Organa, offering his assistance.
