The Jazbinans were a sentient species of humanoids with feline characteristics, originating from the planet of Jazbina. In 0 ABY, they lived under the rule of an aristocratic family, with Lord Prepredenko at its head. While many Jazbinans harbored resentment towards the Galactic Empire's dominion, they mostly accepted it, limiting their resistance to private complaints about the Empire's wrongdoings. However, following the Battle of Yavin, when Darth Vader ordered Prepredenko's execution and established direct Imperial control, a rebellion erupted, spearheaded by Princess Syayna, the late Lord's daughter, and the Rebel hero Luke Skywalker.
Jazbinans were bipedal sentients bearing a strong resemblance to Humans, but with notable feline features. Each member of this species possessed an anthropoid physique, consisting of a torso, head, two arms terminating in five-fingered hands, and two legs ending in feet. Their hands were equipped with four clawed digits each, including an opposable thumb. Their faces included a mouth containing white teeth, a pair of pointed ears, a cat-like nose, and two forward-facing eyes, commonly brown in color and capable of producing tears. Hair covered the skulls of both sexes, ranging in shade from blond to brown and often turning white as they aged. Male Jazbinans also had hair on their faces and forearms.
The Jazbinans made their debut in the final three issues of Vader's Quest, a comic book miniseries from 1999 penned by Darko Macan and illustrated by Dave Gibbons.
