The School of Fear marks the fifth installment in a series of novels crafted for young readers. These books recount the escapades of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker during the period between the events of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.
A senator's offspring has gone missing. Within the shadows of his prestigious academy, a clandestine group of rebellious students operates. Could they be implicated in the disappearance? Or does it relate to the senator's hidden adversaries, who are steering the planet towards conflict?
The only way to unravel the enigma and preserve tranquility requires two Jedi apprentices—Anakin Skywalker and his rival, Ferus Olin—to infiltrate one of the most formidable institutions in the galaxy: a school.
Two teams consisting of Master and Padawan, namely Obi-Wan Kenobi paired with Anakin Skywalker, and Siri Tachi working alongside Ferus Olin, have been dispatched to Andara to investigate the vanishing of Gillam Tarturi, who is the son of the Senator governing Andara. It is suspected that his abduction is an attempt to divert the Senator's attention away from the political turmoil plaguing his home system, potentially aided by a youthful squad of mercenaries believed to be stationed at Andara's distinguished Leadership School—the very institution from which Gillam disappeared. Anakin and Ferus, acting as undercover Jedi agents, enroll as transfer students at the school, with Anakin posing as a scholarship recipient and Ferus claiming to be the son of a prominent Mid-Rim official. Simultaneously, Obi-Wan and Siri are delving into the ongoing political strife within the Andaran system.
In the novel, there is a misspelling of Mas Amedda's name, rendered as "Mas Ameeda."
