Jendorn was a planet within the Expansion Region, situated in the Farstey sector. This planet was located in the Borderland Regions, a territory under the dominion of the confederation overseen by Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn. A significant battle occurred on Jendorn in 9 ABY, pitting Imperial forces against those of the New Republic, with the Empire emerging as the victor.
Following this conflict, the Empire took control of Bruzion, a city on Jendorn. Within an Imperial compound there, pilots from the New Republic who had been shot down during the engagement were imprisoned. Subsequently, Gottu and Idow, two members of the New Republic's Katarn Commandos unit, were assigned to a mission aimed at freeing the captive pilots. Despite being only lightly armed, the pair of commandos successfully completed their objective. During the operation, Gottu employed a vibro-ax to detonate the turbolaser tower of the prison compound.
Jendorn was a terrestrial planet found in the Jendorn system, which is part of the Farstey sector within the Trans-Hydian region of the Expansion Region.
By 9 ABY, Jendorn was included within the Borderland Regions, a collection of territories and planets either conquered by or allied with the confederation of Imperial forces under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn. In that year, specifically between the dates of 44:4:15 and 44:6:29, Thrawn's military launched an attack on Jendorn as one of the initial raids in the Grand Admiral's campaign against the New Republic.

The resulting conflict involved intense combat between the Empire and the New Republic. Six pilots from the New Republic were shot down and subsequently became prisoners of the Empire after the Empire's ultimate victory. After the battle, only a small number of Imperial starships remained in orbit around Jendorn to monitor for any New Republic vessels. Furthermore, the Empire occupied the city of Bruzion, while on the opposite side of the planet, the native population of Jendorn continued their resistance against the occupying Imperial forces.
Eventually, Gottu and Idow, two urban combat specialists from the New Republic Special Forces unit known as Katarn Commandos, were sent on a mission to liberate the captured pilots. Gottu and Idow were discreetly dropped off near Bruzion by a transport starship. The pilots were being held in an Imperial prison compound in the vicinity. Armed with only a vibro-ax and two blasters, they approached the facility on foot.
Gottu then decided to create a diversion for the pair's mission. At the same time, he would neutralize the turbolaser tower that was protecting the prison compound. To achieve this, Gottu climbed the side of the tower until the commando reached the approximate level where the structure's power core and capacitor rows were located. Gottu then embedded the activated blade of the vibro-ax into the armored wall of the tower and jumped back down to the ground.
Twenty minutes later, as the two commandos began engaging in skirmishes with the prison compound's guards, Gottu's vibro-ax finally breached the tower's power core. The resulting massive explosion distracted the guards and alerted the prisoners that they were about to be rescued. It also signaled to the assault shuttle, which was designated as the New Republic mission's pick-up transport, that the commandos and the captured pilots were ready for extraction.
The shuttle, piloted by Syla Tors and carrying Lieutenant Judder Page, the commanding officer of the Katarn Commandos, arrived at the compound. By this time, Gottu and Idow had captured the compound, and the shuttle extracted the two commandos and the pilots. Gottu and Idow later became renowned for the minimal weaponry they used to carry out the attack on the Imperial compound. At some point, Gottu recounted the mission to Jendorn to illustrate why the commando preferred vibroweapons to other types of weaponry.
The city of Bruzion was situated on Jendorn. During the Galactic Empire's occupation of the city, an Imperial prison compound was constructed a few kilometers outside of the settlement. A single turbolaser tower provided protection for the facility, which was guarded by a platoon of Imperial troopers.
Jendorn was initially referenced in "Gottu and His Vibroaxe," a brief companion story included in the Dark Force Rising Sourcebook. Bill Slavicsek authored this story, and it was published in 1992 for use with West End Games's Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, placed the Jendorn system, and consequently Jendorn itself, within grid square O-8.
