Jian Paret

Jian Paret was a human male military officer in the service of the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Eight months following the Battle of Endor, specifically in 4 ABY, he held a position within Black Sword Command on N'zoth.

Biography

Early life

Paret held the rank of commander of the Black Fleet, which was based in the Sixth Negative Regions situated in the Deep Core.

Evacuating N'zoth

Following the events of Endor, Paret took on the role of commanding officer within the Sixth Negative Regions. During this period, Paret was the highest-ranking officer stationed on N'zoth. He, rather than Governor Crollick, received the order to oversee the evacuation to the Deep Core. While he clearly commanded the garrison's legion of stormtroopers, it remains uncertain whether he would have typically had authority over the Black Fifteen shipyard or the Super Star Destroyer Intimidator, which was being outfitted at the docks, given that the Imperial Navy guardship Harridan had been removed three weeks prior.

Commander Paret's plans were ultimately thwarted by a rebellion initiated by the native Yevetha, under the leadership of Nil Spaar. After seizing control of the Intimidator and the shipyards, the Yevetha forced Paret to witness the destruction of shuttles carrying twenty thousand Imperials from the garrison and its associated administrative area by the ship's weapons. Subsequently, Nil Spaar executed Paret.

Behind the scenes

The size of the stormtrooper force under Paret's command is deduced from a statement made by Davith Sconn in Shield of Lies. Sconn stated that half of the Imperial presence on N'zoth comprised the white-armored shock-troops.
