Joseph Bongiorno

Joseph "Joe" Bongiorno's contributions include his work on Star Wars Gamemaster Screen, Revised from West End Games, as well as co-authoring "The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Marvel Series" alongside Rich Handley. Furthermore, he is the individual who maintains and manages the Star Wars Expanded Universe Timeline website.

Biography

For Star Wars Gamemaster Screen, Revised, a roleplaying game supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, Joseph "Joe" Bongiorno offered his playtesting expertise and guidance; the item was released in 1996. In Star Wars Insider 38, author Peet Janes expressed gratitude for Bongiorno's support on "The Passing of a Legend: Archie Goodwin," a commemorative piece dedicated to Archie Goodwin following Goodwin's passing in 1998. Bongiorno, in collaboration with Rich Handley, jointly penned "The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Marvel Series," which saw publication in Star Wars Gamer 1 magazine in 2000.

After "The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Marvel Series" was released, Bongiorno embarked on the creation of two articles, "Cult Encounters of the Star Wars Universe" and "Supernatural Encounters in the Star Wars Universe." He collaborated with Handley on the former, and the latter was intended to follow the completion of the former. These articles were initially conceived for Star Wars Gamer, but the magazine ceased publication in 2002. Consequently, Bongiorno adapted these works into two distinct proposals: an article provisionally titled "Cult Encounters: Excerpts from the Last Days of Arhul Hextrophon" and a novella with the working title of Supernatural Encounters: The Trial and Transformation of Arhul Hextrophon. He successfully presented this duology to Hyperspace, the subscriber section of StarWars.com. He had begun readying them for publication when the announcement came that Hyperspace would be shut down in 2010. As a result, Lucasfilm Ltd. never officially published the duology, though he has continued his work writing and revising them.

Bongiorno is the mind behind and administrator of the Star Wars Expanded Universe Timeline, a fan-operated website that offers chronological data, evaluations, and reading recommendations for materials within the Star Wars Legends continuity, which was previously known as the Expanded Universe. The website also acts as an archive for unpublished Star Wars materials, which it refers to as "lost (and found)." Furthermore, he has independently released his own previously unpublished writings on the site.
