A specific type of tree, known as Jung-ju, yielded wood that was both robust and stringy. Leading up to the Great Sith War in 3996 BBY, across the preceding decades, this material found application in the construction of reinforced fiber armor, blending jung-ju tree fibers with man-made substances. The resulting body armor provided a level of resilience and pliability comparable to lighter armors crafted from metal-based compositions.
The 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare, marked the initial appearance of Jung-ju.
