Jurahi was a Jedi Master of the male gender who served the Jedi Order during the final decades of the Galactic Republic. He was a member of the Almas Council, a satellite Jedi Council that oversaw Jedi affairs in the Cularin system, and held the title of Master of Visions during the Clone Wars.
Jurahi, a Force-sensitive individual, received education in the ways of the Force from the Jedi Order, eventually achieving the rank of Jedi Master. Being a pacifist, Master Jurahi trained as a Consular, with a specialization as a Seer. Stationed within the Cularin system, Master Jurahi was assigned as an instructor at the Almas Academy, an experimental academy located on the planet Almas. By the time of the Separatist Crisis, Master Jurahi had earned the title of Master of Visions at the Academy and had been appointed as a member of the Almas Council.
As a Council member and a primary administrator, Master Jurahi was present when Master Darrus Jeht arrived from Coruscant bearing orders from the Jedi High Council. Much to Jurahi's dismay, all superfluous personnel at the academy were instructed to report to staging areas throughout the galaxy to enlist in the Grand Army of the Republic. Jurahi, already a man who despised combat and considered Jedi who "did their thinking with their lightsabers" to be the biggest danger to the galaxy, was horrified by this demand. Although he resigned himself to the inevitable orders, he did express his irritation, complaining, "Who does the Council think we are? A school, not a garrison!"
