The Justice, a Mon Calamari Star Cruiser of the MC80 Liberty type, served the New Republic.

History

During 5 ABY, the Justice commanded the Rapid Response Task Force during the Battle of Mindor. Later, Lord Shadowspawn's forces destroyed it, breaking it into three fragments. Through his great abilities with the Force, General Luke Skywalker managed to crash the bridge section onto Mindor's surface.

Description

Like all Mon Calamari vessels, the Justice had a unique design. While similar to its sister ship, the Liberty, it featured significantly larger hangar bays for deploying fighter craft. This led General Luke Skywalker to humorously observe that the ship appeared "a little bit pregnant." The Justice had the capacity to carry up to ten starfighter squadrons.

Behind the scenes

The Justice made its debut in Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance, specifically in the flight simulator skirmish titled 8P Complex 2 Team Classic Conflict. Within the game, it was categorized as a MC80 Home One type Star Cruiser. However, the novel Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor established the Justice as the sister ship of the famed Liberty, thus making it a MC80 Liberty type Star Cruiser.

Luke's remarkable landing of the Justice is reminiscent of Anakin Skywalker's landing of the Invisible Hand in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith—the vessel is torn apart, its controls are designed for alien physiology, and so on.
