Kaal was a Sith belonging to the Sith Empire, specifically a Male Human. He became one of the unwilling apprentices of Darth Zash, a consequence of her prior selection of Kallig as her primary apprentice during the time of the Cold War.
In the year 3643 BBY, Kaal, accompanied by Corrin, made their way to the Dark Temple shortly after Kallig's victory over Darth Zash. Kaal expressed doubt regarding joining the Sith Inquisitor, believing (incorrectly, as Khem Val was actually responsible) that Kallig was responsible for Zash's demise. However, Corrin persuaded him otherwise, and they both swore loyalty to their new Master. The following year, 3642 BBY, Darth Thanaton issued an order for the termination of all apprentices and disciples associated with Darth Zash. This resulted in the deaths of both Corrin and Kaal, who were slain by Lord Cineratus on the planet Quesh. Kallig later retaliated for their demise by rejecting Cineratus's offer and executing him.
