Not long after the Battle of Geonosis, General Sev'rance Tann received orders to take command of the platform. Her mission was to restore the Separatists' decimated droid armies. After removing a local mynocks population that had taken refuge there, Sev'rance repurposed the existing facilities to produce substantial numbers of dwarf spider droids and homing spider droids. Galactic Republic General Jor Drakas eventually uncovered this military buildup, but Sev'rance successfully evacuated her newly assembled forces before he could act.
The Separatist campaign in the 2002 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds: Clone Campaigns featured the Kaer Orbital Platform. Lily Mansfield designed the level and chose the name Kaer, drawing inspiration from the Welsh term caer, which translates to fortress.
