The Kage were a sentient species of near-human origin, with their homeworld being the planet Quarzite. While sharing similarities with humans, their distinctive eyes and pale complexion distinguished them. They were a people known for their spirit and dedication, having established the Kage Warriors to oppose the oppressive Belugans, the other sentient species sharing their planet, in the seemingly endless war on Quarzite.
The Kage were celebrated for their inherent beauty. Individuals of both sexes were considered highly attractive by both humans and similar species. Furthermore, the Kage were well-regarded for their exceptional athletic capabilities, remarkably quick reflexes, and a culture deeply rooted in martial arts. Kage warriors were perpetually engaged in conflict with the Belugans, their long-standing adversaries on their shared homeworld. They also possessed the ability to retain memories from a very young age, practically from birth.
The Kage's origins lie on the planet of Quarzite. There, they dwelled within subterranean cities and were constantly at war with the Belugans who lived on the surface. This emphasis on a warrior culture led to their fame for combat skills. The majority of Kage males possessed some degree of combat experience. This made them highly sought after as mercenaries, pirates, and members of rebel organizations.
Barash Silvain, a Kage, entered the Jedi Order during her youth, as was the standard practice for all Jedi. However, due to her species' capacity to form memories from an early stage in life, she longed for the family she had left behind. Consequently, she requested that fellow Jedi Porter Engle assume the role of a brother to her. During the time of the Imperial Era, a Kage family, consisting of Ru, Halia, and their son Sadori Vushan, were affiliated with the rebel faction known as the Dreamers.
