Kaleb Darme was a male Indu from Legends continuity who formerly served as the bodyguard for Imperial Governor Ekam Ouwray. During the time of the Galactic Civil War, he also held the position of an Authority Officer within the Council Authority of the Indu Council.
Darme, a devoted follower of the Imperial cause, is known for the assassination of the chief councilor Shek Barayel. As the Indu Council prepared to vote on Indu San determining whether to form an alliance between the Indu San system and the New Republic, Darme secretly placed a bomb inside the communications and voting console at Barayel's spot at the U-shaped conference table. Before Barayel could cast his vote on the pivotal issue, Darme remotely triggered the bomb. Amidst the resulting chaos, he followed Ambassador Dictio L'varren's aide, Tev Aden, into a nearby corridor and used a blaster to kill him. Galactic News Network reporter Kella Rand had been tailing Darme and another Authority Officer into the corridor. Rand's hovercam caught Darme on camera seemingly removing a detonator from Aden's corpse. However, Darme had actually planted the detonator himself, hoping to falsely accuse the New Republic of the assassination. His intention was to undermine support for the New Republic and pave the way for the Empire's return to Indu San.

Later, while reviewing her past interviews at the Indu GNN bureau, Kella Rand came across footage of Darme planting the bomb that resulted in Barayel's death. She shared this evidence with her fellow GNN reporters—Crislyn, Juloff, and her supervisor, Robbe Nostler—before setting out to present it to Ambassador L'varren. Meanwhile, Juloff, who was also an Imperial sympathizer like Darme, informed Darme that Rand possessed incriminating evidence against him. When Rand arrived at L'varren's hotel, Juloff identified her to Darme, who promptly pursued her. As Rand hurried towards L'varren's residence in Suite 44-1, she dispatched her hovercam ahead with the crucial evidence. However, Darme intercepted Rand before she could reach the suite. He dragged her into a turbolift, threatened her with a vibroknife, confiscated her datacards, and shot her with a stun bolt. Darme then used his vibro-knife to force his way out of the turbolift, but was soon apprehended by L'varren's security team, who had witnessed the evidence and initiated a pursuit of the assassin. Darme was swiftly brought to justice, and Kella Rand was rescued, allowing her to report the full story.
Kaleb Darme was a firm supporter of the Galactic Empire, striving to diminish backing for the New Republic and facilitate the Empire's return to Indu San. He was willing to risk his own life for the Empire and was considered trustworthy by Imperial Governor Ekam Ouwray, who selected him as his bodyguard. In his assassination of Shek Barayel, Kaleb Darme demonstrated his skill in deception, planting a bomb to create the illusion that the New Republic was responsible; however, Kella Rand ultimately uncovered his scheme.
Laurie Burns conceived Kaleb Darme for her short story titled Kella Rand, Reporting..., which initially appeared in Star Wars Adventure Journal 6 in 1995. This short story was subsequently republished in the fiction section of Hyperspace, the official Star Wars fan club's online platform, on December 2, 2005.
