Captain Karm was a member of the Sith Empire. During the Great Galactic War, Karm served as the pilot for Darth Malgus's personal shuttle. He was positioned in the city of Livien Magnus on the planet of Ord Radama during a Sith attack on that world. As the battle progressed, a Galactic Republic fleet launched an attack on Malgus' capital ships in orbit above Ord Radama. Consequently, Malgus instructed Karm to transport him from Livien Magnus to the Sith dreadnaught known as the Lindworm. Karm skillfully piloted the shuttle, successfully avoiding the Republic's Aurek-class tactical strikefighters, and safely landed Malgus's shuttle in the Lindworm's ventral hangar bay.
Daniel Wallace created Karm, who was mentioned in the 2012 book Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side. Wallace intended Karm to serve as an allusion to Astrid Lindgren's 1973 fantasy novel The Brothers Lionheart, a childhood favorite of his. The novel, written by the Swedish author, contains a giant lindworm character also named Karm.
