Livien Magnus

Livien Magnus, the primary urban center on the world of Ord Radama, served as its [capital](/article/capital/legends]. During the Great Galactic War, the Galactic Republic defended Livien Magnus when the Sith Empire launched an attack on Ord Radama and laid siege to it. About a week into the siege, Adraas, a Sith Lord, arrived on Ord Radama, suggesting to Darth Malgus, the commanding officer of the Sith forces present, that battle droids be deployed to create an opening into Livien Magnus. Malgus approved Adraas' suggestion, and Adraas dispatched the droids to assault the city's southern gate; however, the Republic's defenders swiftly destroyed them. Despite their failure, the droids' assault acted as a diversion, enabling Darth Venemal, another Sith Lord, and a squad of commandos to infiltrate Livien Magnus and detonate a section of the city's wall. Subsequently, Sith forces flooded into the city, and Livien Magnus rapidly succumbed to Malgus' command.

Some weeks later, a Republic fleet engaged Malgus' starships in orbit above Ord Radama, aiming to expel the Sith from the planet. In the midst of the conflict, a crippled Sith [Harrower-class Dreadnaught](/article/harrower-class_dreadnought] spiraled into Ord Radama's atmosphere, crashing directly into the heart of Livien Magnus, resulting in its destruction and the deaths of one hundred thousand residents. Following this event, the Sith abandoned Ord Radama, and the city of New Raido took over as the planet's capital.

By 2 BBY, Livien Magnus had been rebuilt, and Rialla Way had become a prominent main street within the city. Malau Jocaos bombed it in an attempt to sway Var Narek to the Imperial cause, with the Rebel Alliance falsely blamed for the bombing.

Behind the scenes

Daniel Wallace conceived Livien Magnus, and it first appeared in the 2012 publication Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side. Wallace's intention was for the city to serve as a reference to the Livien League, a pre-Republic empire that was governed by the warlord Xim.
