Its purpose was to experiment with Artusian crystals to empower certain stormtroopers, leading to the creation of the Reborn. Stavan, an officer of the Imperial Remnant, was in command of this installation, which housed a garrison of approximately 140 individuals.

Initially believed to be deserted, Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors journeyed to survey the area. However, a transmission intercepted from the outpost, relayed by Mon Mothma, verified ongoing Imperial operations. The subsequent mission resulted in the deaths of a significant portion of the outpost's personnel, and the base itself sustained substantial damage in various sectors.
