Kela Neerik served the Imperial Navy as an Imperial officer, achieving the commander rank. He piloted a TIE fighter as part of Black Squadron, a distinguished TIE fighter group, approximately around the time of the Battle of Yavin. In the course of that battle, Neerik relayed information to Black Squadron, reporting that the Death Star was a mere six minutes away from being able to target Yavin 4, the moon.
