Jango Fett delivers a Keldabe kiss to Obi-Wan Kenobi on Kamino
The term Keldabe kiss signified a headbutt within Mandalorian culture. It got its designation from Keldabe, which used to be the main city and capital of the planet Mandalore. Back in 22 BBY, Jango Fett executed a headbutt directed at the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi during their confrontation on the watery world known as Kamino. Nam Beroya once stated that his headbutts inflicted greater pain than torture itself.
The Keldabe kiss made its initial appearance in the prequel trilogy film from 2002, specifically, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. The Friends Like These adventure supplement of 2016 for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game, published by Fantasy Flight Games, was the first time it was identified in the new Star Wars canon. Within the Star Wars Legends timeline, the term Keldabe kiss, a colloquialism for the kov'nyn in Mando'a which translates to headbutt, premiered in the Republic Commando novel Order 66 by author Karen Traviss, released on September 16, 2008.
