Keldabe once served as the capital city for the planet of Mandalore. Approximately in 42 BBY, this city suffered immense destruction amidst the Mandalorian Civil War, a conflict spanning a year between the peaceful New Mandalorian faction and the traditional, combat-focused martial traditionalists of Mandalore. Following the New Mandalorians' victory in the war, they relocated the planetary capital from Keldabe to Sundari, which was the heart of their power. Furthermore, the city lent its name to the Keldabe kiss.
