Kellogg's C-3PO's commercial 1 was a television advertisement produced by Kellogg's in the year 1984, created with the purpose of promoting their C-3PO's brand of breakfast cereal. Additional advertisements were also created.
C-3PO, carrying a metallic container, and R2-D2 are depicted moving across a relatively small desert landscape while evading incoming laser blasts. The scene transitions to a MC80 Home One type Star Cruiser traveling through space towards a planet's surface. C-3PO and R2-D2 are shown on board, having just completed the creation of a cereal product which they have named C-3PO's. The scene then shifts to an external view of space, where a pair of cereal rings merge, forming a shape resembling "00". Subsequently, a Human boy is shown consuming the cereal, followed by a recommendation for how to supplement the cereal within a breakfast context. The scene returns to the desert planet, specifically inside a cave, where C-3PO has delivered the cereal to a satisfied customer. The advertisement concludes with the tagline "A New Force at Breakfast," immediately followed by C-3PO's utterance, "May the Force be with you."
The advertisement features actor Anthony Daniels portraying the character C-3PO, and segments of John Williams' Star Wars theme are played throughout. The design of the cave creature originated from an earlier, discarded concept from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
An in-universe depiction of C-3PO's cereal made an appearance within the illustrated children's book titled Darth Vader and Son.
