Kellogg's created a television advertisement, Kellogg's C-3PO's commercial 2, during the year 1984. The purpose of this ad was to market C-3PO's brand of cereal, manufactured by Kellogg's. It's worth noting that other commercials were produced for this cereal as well.
On a planet with a rocky terrain, C-3PO is depicted holding a metallic container, accompanied by R2-D2. Threepio announces their predicament: "We're lost!". Subsequently, Artoo detects the presence of living beings. One of the rocks is then revealed to be a rock-like alien, who proceeds to fire a blaster at the two droids. The alien utters a phrase in its native tongue, which Threepio interprets as a demand for "food". Following this, Threepio retrieves a box of C-3PO's cereal from the container. The scene transitions to two Human boys elsewhere, who are shown enjoying the cereal. One of the boys expresses the belief that the Force is with them. The rock-like creature, now pleased, requests more cereal, and several more creatures of the same species emerge, much to C-3PO's dismay. The commercial concludes with the catchphrase "A New Force at Breakfast."
A modified version of this advertisement was later released, where certain alien scenes were shortened to promote the Kellogg's Star Wars Series trading cards. These cards were included as a free bonus inside the cereal boxes.
Anthony Daniels is the actor who plays C-3PO in the commercial. Musical segments from John Williams' Star Wars theme are featured in the ad. Furthermore, an in-universe depiction of C-3PO's cereal made an appearance in the children's book titled Darth Vader and Son.
